About Saka Energy

Saka Energy Consulting was founded by Kalyan Kafle, an electrical and renewable energy engineer with a strong academic background in power systems, control and energy storage.

I hold a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from UiT - The Arctic University of Norway, with a focus on electrical power systems and control systems. I also hold a Master's degree in Wind Energy Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

During my academic work, I developed knowledge and practical experience in areas including power system analysis, energy storage, electrical machines, battery modelling and renewable energy integration.

I also gained hands-on experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems while working at Banke ApS in Denmark, where I was involved in a BESS project from the early design stage through to practical execution. My work included developing the system architecture, electrical design, component selection, control and communication aspects, testing and supporting project implementation. This gave me valuable insight into how a BESS concept is developed and translated into a working system in a real project environment.

Before pursuing my master's degrees, I worked on telecommunication infrastructure projects in Nepal. This gave me practical experience working with technical projects, commissioning, troubleshooting and different aspects of project execution.

This combination of academic and practical experience has given me an understanding of how technical solutions need to work not only on paper, but also as part of a real project.

In addition to my academic background, I have completed specialised training in Battery Energy Storage Systems for grid ancillary services, including battery sizing and economic analysis, through RENAC (Renewables Academy), Germany.

At Saka Energy, I use this combination of power-system knowledge, renewable-energy expertise and practical project experience to provide clear and useful technical and economic analysis for BESS projects.
